I expected the next batch of Floyd remasters would be SACD or 5.1 or both. Any word on why FC has been re-issued in this way? Why are no B-sides from the FC-associated singles included as bonus tracks? Saving them for the next remastering?

I'm not sure why this album was singled out for a (re!)-remaster, to be honest, either.

It has everything to do with the record co. Until recently, Sony owned the rights in North America, Japan etc. and EMI everywhere else. Now that EMI owns the worldwide rights, they wanted it remastered under their name.

The only difference is the addition of When the Tigers Broke Free.

Nice addition, but I wouldn't put it right before The Hero's Return.

I think TFC was remastered because:

1-It was the 20th anniversary.
2-The original remaster has editing problems.
3-The levels and sound mastering on the original remaster were bad.
