From what I recall, they stopped their unlimited texting service, (that also allowed the person who received it to text back to icq for free), and that's why I stopped using it. It really did go downhill quickly, so a lot stopped using it.

Ah I didn't realize it ever had a text messaging ability (I'm assuming you meant via mobile phones). Well, most, if not all, phones these days can text message with anyone on the internet via their phone's email address anyway. Not to mention, many web-able phones can use instant messenger programs.
