From what I have seen, you posts thus far have been of a reasonable quality, certainly not gushing.

*hangs Steve and smiles*

Thanks for that, but it would be a little extra work with my ADD. It might be cool. Maybe some day when I get more expierienced I will be approached.

ok - trying to be serious now. I wouldn't go for a mod job here. one reason is that to be honest I don't know that much about Floyd - love their music, but I've before really taken the time to read up on them etc.

that's one of the things I'd expect in a mod - them knowing their stuff (talking about mods in general now not about anybody on this board), the other thing is that they should 'understand' the board and the regular posters, i.e. should have been around for a while, have some feeling for what is normal and what isn't, maybe also feel responsible for the board but not trying to rule and regulate everything and everybody.

I was a mod on another board for some time and if you take it seriously it's indeed more tedious work (and sometimes a bit of a headache) than 'glory'. I've seen boards being almost ruined by mods who went into a deleting and locking frenzy - and other boards almost going down because of trolls spamming each and every thread without being stopped.

from what I've seen here, things are handled very well...and AndersonCouncill - I like your attitude.

I have only been a big fan for about 18 months or so, (I actually found this site and then the board through trying to find out some information on the band). I can however read up a lot on a subject in such a short space of time and learn a lot too. Before I joined this board, I think I had 2 or three Floyd albums and now I have pretty much all of them along with DVDs, most of the vinyl, some members solo works and dozens of roios.

It doesn't take much to know a lot about a subject, just time and cash, (to an extent), and you pick things up quickly. After about 18 months, I know a lot of people coming here have a very limited knowledge, so even if there are thousands of Floyd fans out there with a greater knowledge than I, I can answer those questions that new members want answered and add in my own comments.

The only moderator I am familiar with is Steve. I don't always agree with him, however I do believe he is an exceptionaly bright young man. I always read his posts. I must admitt I am a selective reader. A subject or topic has to capture my interest (you are not the only one with ADD Anderson). I think they made a wise choice selecting Steve as a moderator. This is a man that will go far in my opinion.

Well, I certainly must agree that I will not go on a topic unless it captures my attention. I always imagined the majority of Floydians have ADD/ADHD for the reason that to have it you must be in at least the high normal range in your IQ. I think you would make an excellent mod.

I sure hope so, I just need to get my career on track. I still want to get into journalism and wowser and I are actually applying for postitions at the moment, (I am sure I won't get it at the moment though), but I also keep getting the feeling at work that I am being groomed for management. What a shot out of the blue that would be if I announce I have another job and quit.

A lot of people say that I am bright and should go far, but I try to stay grounded and not get big-headed. I am proud of my last IQ test coming out at 158 though, I wasn't even feeling at my best and don't fully agree with IQ as a measure of intelligence, but I still know I am good enough to do anything I want if I apply myself, and a fair few things even if I don't.

Anyway, this should not turn into a topic about me. Stop praising me and criticise me please.

Thats my IQ, also. I am more interested in creative writing but I'm being advised by family members to get into music reviews.
