Ironically, after Year Zero, he made reading a criminal offence.

That leads to dictatorship, disarm the people, burn the books, we know what's best for you, we will protect you...many disappearedand wound up in a big hole after forced labor after these was said and done to them.
Yes, Pol Pot, a history teacher, knew how effective removing a people`s sense of history could potentially be.
1.4 million Cambodians died at the hands of Pol Pot, during the terrors.
Apart from executing people who owned spectacles, another "anti-intellectual" form of death was to drive a sharpened pencil into the brain with a mallet - a clear "message" to anyone who came across the corpse - nice!
Ironically, the concept of "Year Zero" (you have no past, history starts from now) was actually ended by
the Vietnamese, when they invaded Cambodia in 1979 - they managed to get as far as "Year 4", before it was stopped.
Icy wind of night be gone...this is not your domain

Dunno, my history teacher was very bizarre. He was the person you would least expect to commit such crimes, yet the most likely if such a thing were to happen.

What is the job description to be a moderator of this great set of forums? Can one moderate just one area of the site, or have to mod all of it?

Previously it was largely made up of moderators who had one or a few boards under their control, (for example, W1P alone did the tributes and nothing else, Simps did Guitars). PFOnline decided at the same time as inviting me onto the team that he would also make all positions "global". This was largely because some moderators can be very busy at times and so aren't around here to moderate their section. Even if we don't follow a particular board much, if something is reported to us, we can now moderate any board we wish.
I currently am in a period of not being completely available all the time, but if I get an email reporting something, I almost always follow it up instantly. So, if you spot anything at all, don't hesitate to either click report or to pm one of us individually. We can't spot everything, so you are all like sub-moderators. Our eyes and ears as it were. :)

Sounds good to me. Then since I'm not available and won't be for a while to do the job needed, then I'll be one of the "sub moderators" as much as I can.
This is COOL site, the best yet I've seen on the most legendary, musically superior, advanced, and when you really think about it, timeless band the world has ever and will ever see. Yes, even Syd's music from the 60's is just as fresh and appropriate today as it was then.

Er, has anyone said you are going to be any kind of mod at all?

Thats why I was cautious of how I worded this thread. Didn't want to come off as someone wondering if they were a mod.
