I don't personally like any of those idea, no offence to you, just my opinion.

1. I don't see why we should delete the whole history of the board for no reason. Every single one of wowser's posts, for instance, would be deleted, and I feel it would be a crime to do that.

2. Relating to wowser again, I don't feel it is fair to put a time span on it as people like him would be deleted. Also, there was, for a few months last year, a time when I didn't visit the forum for a while. I returned, and I would have been horrified to find that my account had been deleted.

I am all for ways of helping the board to progress, but I don't personally feel this is the way to do it.

erm does it matter that it deletes peoples posts from the PAST as i dont think anyone reads topics which go back years.

Other forums do it to keep the forums clean take the floyd section and album and the dvd/video sections of this board there are lots of the same topics on Pulse for example.

why would your account be deleted if the forum had been cleaned out it wouldnt affect your account on here would it its deleting old topics which date back to 2001-2 glare would not affect your account. Why you so conserned about wowsers old posts anyway ??? ??? and why you picking him out what about all the other members who have been around the same time as him on here glare ???

its cleaning the forum out of all old topics not deleting members accounts would not affect me you or anyone just tidy the forum off its old old topics in each of the sections of this forum.

I agree with Chris. I think some of the old posts are very important to this board's history, because you get to see what this place was like and you get a chance to look for old topics, like I did when I was new. He singled out wowser because he has the most posts on the forum and he contributed a lot to early discussions on this forum.
And he wasn't saying his account would be deleted from deleting old posts, but if there was a time limit for inactivity. I don't think it would be a bad idea to delete accounts who have less than 3-5 posts or so and haven't posted in a year or so, but it shouldn't affect the accounts of existing members.

RIP Rick Wright - 7/28/43 - 9/15/08

Umm . . . I was saying my account would be deleted if there was a time limit and not because of the clearing out thing.

I don't think it would be right to virtually delete a portion of the boards history. I, for one, enjoy reading through old posts and seeing wowser and simps posting. I singled out wowser because he seems to be the person that made this forum what it is today.

agreed, I'd hate to see that too....if PFO decides he needs to "clean up", he'll do it or ask us to, 'til then I only delete offensive posts and will continue in that manner....the rest is all part of the boards history, good or bad

c.

And now the final solution can be applied.
