Hey AffiliateChamp, welcome to the site, I am also fairly new here and enjoy it a fair bit, so I am sure you will also.

This is actually a clever spam bot...

Notice it's homepage link under it's post... (But I wouldn't click it)

When they also have an option for "Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, AOL" etc... It usually means they're a spammer. Not always, but it's a "heads up", when it's their first post, and don't mention anything about Pink Floyd or seem like humans. (What's a cpanetwork?)

It doesn't matter if their are no spam links in the post itself, some are just looking for the "homepage" button link, to boost there search engine rankings.

I'll leave this thread here, rather than deleting it, so we can learn to spot them better.

LOL thanks for the heads up PFO. I am usually pretty good at spotting spam, but missed this one entirely.

Once again, you rocker

Yeah I noticed this was a spam bot too but I didn't delete it either because I wanted the other mods to check it out and see what about it indicates it's a spam bot. I PM'ed the mods about this but perhaps I should have posted a public explanation like you did to help all members identify spam bots, so they can report posts such as these as well. BTW I googled "cpanetworks" and it seems to be some sort of affiliate money making scheme, yet another clue to it being spam, not to mention "affiliate" in the username lol.

Nice catch PFO. I've seen a lot of bots like this, where they will say things like "thanks for having me" and stuff and never posting again
I've also seen some bots try to be clever by saying, for example "in response to what member IbanezIsTheColour said", and then go on to post some ridiciulously long spam post...
