I don't post here often, but I have been a member for quite a while. I just came by to tell you all that our dear friend FloydianLeaf has passed on today apparently of a heart attack at the age of 38. He leaves behind his wife and 2 daughters. I know he has over 400 posts in here and some of you may know him well. Just stopped by to let you all know in case anyone was close to him as many of us are in a different forum.

Shine ON FL...you will truly be missed....RIP :(

What?!? OMG. :Oo: This is so shocking...

Wow I don't know what to say. He seemed like a really cool guy and sure was one hardcore Floyd fan. He had a killer Floyd collection, maybe even the best of anyone I've seen. It sure is a shame to lose such a cool fellow Floydian friend, especially so young. :(

Well, at least he got to see a ton of Roger Waters shows and even scored some great autographs while he still had time so hopefully he was quite happy when he passed on.

Here's a link to his profile: FloydianLeaf

Rest in peace Michael, shine on our friend. hammers

Oh man...that's just awful to hear about! And shocking.

He obviously loved his Floyd, and was certainly what you'd call a hard-core fan. His pictures from some of Roger's recent shows were fabulous!

Seemingly a very nice guy who will be missed. :(

I'm so sorry to hear about this...Wow...

I'm 51, and a proud grandparent and I just feel for FL's family and friends. I didn't know him, but I just wanted express my sympathy and hope for his family and friends left behind. Yet another reminder to "enjoy every sandwich" (W. Zevon)

I found more details on A Fleeting Glimpse forums where he was more active...

Last year, Mike made a commitment to change his lifestyle to lose weight and improve his health. He worked very hard with diet and exercise and had already lost 71 pounds, with only 24 more to go. He was looking good and feeling great. His wife said that he came home from his bike ride yesterday feeling extremely exhausted so they retired early. He seemed fine this morning and went to the gym, as usual, and passed away while working out. Life can sure be ironic. :-/

Mike will be cremated and his ashes scattered at Grantchester Meadows, per his wishes. So poignant and befitting for a fan as dedicated as he. To quote his wife, "He was a Floyd fan to the end." No words could be more true than that.

This really is a testament to live each day as if it were your last, because one day it will be and you may not know when it's coming. Embrace the time you have with those you love and take nothing for granted. He seemed to be living life to the fullest with so much going for him. The Floydian community is suffering a great loss, but our sadness just goes to show how great of a person he really was. A worthy member of the Pink Floyd community indeed.

I made a few changes to FloydianLeaf's profile. Since he didn't have a photo, I added one that I edited in tribute to him. I also changed his member title to say "Great Gig in the Sky" and added a link to this thread in his signature. If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions, please let me know.

A couple of threads about FloydianLeaf on a hockey forum he apparently moderated:

His wife posted on there too (under his account) so I suppose if you want to pass along any messages to his family you could contact her through that site.
