Ricks voice still has it
Upon buying Remember That Night, i was a little skeptical at how well Ricks voice would hold up... also whether he'd sing much at all, but i gotta say, upon hearing Wearing The Inside Out its safe to say he still has it vocally Cool

Anyway, to make this a topic, whats your favourite vocal performance of Rick on Remember That Night ?

(also it was really nice to hear how happy Rick seemed on the second disk)

I quite liked his performance on Comfortably Numb. He handled Roger's parts quite well.

Matter of fact, he sounded a helluva lot like Roger.

I agree, he seemed really chirpy when he handled the camera in "The West Coast".

Am I the only one who noticed when Dave introduced Rick, a lot of women were standing up and applauding Rick? It made me wonder how much of a ladies man Rick is.

It took a bit of time, but I really like how he does CN also. He stays true to the emotional element of the song, but he also injects a little bit of "Wrightness" in there too.

On WTIO, his voice sounds fine, overall.....but for once, I miss the female voices....the song sort of looses some dynamic without them. Would have loved to have seen "Stay" performed, so long as they had the lid off of OBC.....but I'm not complaining.....

I'm actually surprised there were no backing female singers in RTN.

I agree that Wearing the Inside Out sounds a little odd without the female backing singers, but I find it kind of refreshing that Dave, Rick and gang chose not to use them for this tour. The post-Waters Floyd and Waters solo really kinda overuse them, I think.

I don't have RTN yet (doesn't seem to have come out here in Japan yet--might have to order it from Amazon if it doesn't come out soon!), but from hearing various live recordings of the OAI tour, I really like Rick's singing on CN. His whole personality really fits the character in the song. I think that having him sing it alone sounds way better than the version that the post-Waters Floyd did, where they have a whole bunch of people singing.

mabewa...when you do end up getting this, you're really going to enjoy it, not only for the stellar performances, but also because Rick is so well featured throughout. Some of the footage in the extras is downright hilarious, and really shows a lot of Rick's personality in a way that's never been shown before. It's really cool to see.

Rick's voice was great on every song except Arnold Layne, he sounded aweful on that. I'm glad Bowie got to do it.

I agree that he is brilliant on RTN. I think that the way he handled Roger's vocals on CN was particularly, refreshingly good.

I think the version on the single is pretty good, actually--both Bowie and Rick do a good job with it.
