Best lyrically? tis a hard one, most of the albums they did were good at creating images on the lyrical content. I'm gonna go with Dark Side, not only did I love the sound but how the lyrics really mean something. I will always appreciate how Time makes you sit back and think that it's best to do it now or else rot in old age wishing you had have done something. But the most fantastic piece of Dark Side has to be the combo of Brain Damage and Eclipse. No other Floyd song makes me sit down and think about what the lyrics are talking about. Is the Dark Side all in the head of the insane? or a part of all of us, that safe haven we go to?. Well whatever it is the song will continue to make me think and argue out what is the dark side of the moon... Animals is pretty good aswell .

I think Dark Side of the Moon is so great because it spoke about the things people hate, without pointing fingers to anybody. Brain Damage describes insanity, SOYCD described Syd. Us and Them describes war, The Wall describes World War II. Lyrics are generally better when the listener can relate it to their own life. That's why Brain Damage says so much more than SOYCD, despite the fact that SOYCD is so much more specific.

My vote goes to The Wall. I like this Album. because I am big fan of Michael Jackson Off the Wall. actually my second favorite track on the entire album.

Part of why I was always drawn to DSotM was because the lyrics were about topics/concepts I could understand. Right now, the lyrics for Time are heavily relevant to me, in a way that I didn't think they ever would be. Us and Them has always been a song I've used to bring myself down when I'm in a bad mood or I'm upset about something. Breathe is a great song to put on after a hard day and you need some perspective. I believe that the same feelings are felt by scads of other people.

WYWH, while fantastic lyrically, is more pointed and less abstract -- which can make it hard to relate to. Unless you're in the music business or deal with people in that field, Welcome To The Machine and Have A Cigar have no affect on your life. SOYCD is about a specific person and Wish You Were Here is the only track on the album that every person can listen to and get something different out of.

Exactly my point. :)

A song I can relate to a lot is Mother, for reasons you can probably guess. It's one of my favorites, and the lyrics play a big part in that.
