Lead Tone
Hi guys, right now, i am using a ZOOM G2.1u effects pedal, which gives a a real beautiful clean, rhythem tone, but for lead, it is only really useful if i want a distorted lead sound. i'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to effects and pedals, but i was wondering if any of you could give some advice in what to do / purchase to obtain a more rich and smooth lead sound, what is a good starting point.

Thanks in advance

Scrap the zoom

or if you really want use it for modulation, chorus, flanger, delay

ideally you want

Compressor
volume pedal
Fuzz/ Overdrive
Chorus
Eq < not tht neccesarry
Flanger < take ur choice for next 3 modulation options
Phaser
Delay
Reverb

So if your zoom has compressor delay and reverb yo could use tehm and just buy yourself a good Fuzz or a Big muff

for lead tones the big muff would be ideal you can get a sovtek russian big muff p1 pedal for really cheap you can get sweeping live 8 gilmour tones ut of that and some on an island solos.

take ur pick?

but make sure you dont drown your tone in modulation and be very carefull with your effects chain.

RE: Lead Tone
Theirs alot of diffrences in the sound the little big muffs are just bassically a very very bassy fuzz box thats hard to control.

were as the actuall big muffs have a tone and mid boost in them and can give you alot better dynamics and a much sweeter tone with alot of headroom.

Oh right, ok thanks for that (not i just have to sort out a rhythem tone Tongue)

Just out of curiosity, what effect does gilmour use on the middle section of saucerful of secrets (between the battle and celestial voices) on pompeii... Just curious if anyone knew

Dallas Arbeitier Fuzz Face Silcon
Binson Echorec 2
Ernie Ball Volume Pedal

all hes doing is controlling the feedback with his fuzz by turnign the gain up and down
