Release The Wall on DVD from 1980-81 and stop milking The Wall and set about working on something new Roger please. I know its a piece of work he is proud of but he has milked it to much now release The Wall Live Earls Court and be done with it. Biggrin

--Wow you've gotta be kidding me! Damn right it's a piece of work and he should be very proud of it! The man is a genius. "The Wall", "The Dark Side of the Moon", "Wish You Were Here", "Animals", "The Final Cut", "Pros and Cons of Hitchiking", "Amused to Death", and his other albums contain the greatest music ever written, no questions asked. And now you're gonna say he's milking it!? ARE YOU OUTTA YOUR MIND!? If you have the ability to create something so spectacular and achieve something so great such as "The Wall", it should be honored FOREVER! hammers

I don't care how bad he says the original demos are, I WANT TO HEAR THEM! Would be a great 30th Anniversary release.

The demos for The Wall? It's around. I have it from a podcast for PF called "Brain Damage."

As for The Wall musical--it could work, I think. I'm definately curious to see how it turns out.

No, the original demos, played to the band, no one has them, 5 people have heard them, you know the story.

That's exactly as it's advertised in the podcast I have:

Quote:Show #51, Release date: 17. February, 2006

This show picks up where we left off after the 1977 Montreal concert two weeks ago. Six months later in January of 1978, Roger had formulated the idea for The Wall and in July presented his demos called Bricks In The Wall to the rest of the band.

The demos featured in this podcast were recorded between October 1978 and March 1979.

1. In The Flesh?
2. The Thin Ice
3. Another Brick In The Wall (part 1)
4. Happiest Days of Our Lives
5. Another Brick In The Wall (part 2)
6. Mother
7. Goodbye Blue Sky
8. Empty Spaces
9. What Shall We Do Now?
10. Young Lust
11. One of My Turns
12. Don't Leave Me Now
13. Another Brick In The Wall (part 3)
14. Goodbye Cruel World
15. Is There Anybody Out There (part 1)
16. Is There Anybody Out There (part 2)
17. Is There Anybody Out There (part 3)
18. Hey You
19. Vera
20. Bring The Boys Back Home
21. The Doctor (comfortably numb)
22. The Show Must Go On
23. In The Flesh
24. Run Like Hell
25. Waiting For The Worms
26. Stop
27. The Trial
28. Outside The Wall

From that though, it's honestly not too terribly different. There isn't a lot of the more classical instrements in it (The Trial only has a piano track and then the guitar at the end), some lyrics are moved around. The big differences is the extra parts with "Is There Anyone Out There?" and Comfortably Numb has almost completely different lyrics. [/quote]

cevor Wrote:the idea of The Wall being made into a musical makes me cringe..there's no posssible way to give it justice in this medium...it's too big, too complex to bring across properly...besides the idea that most (I said most) stage production is just a bunch of re-hashed schlock attended by blue hairs thinking they're above everyone else...

Greg, my gut reaction is the same as yours. It will be interesting how the writers spin it and try to win us all over. Who knows, maybe the masses will like it!

I also agree with azza200 who said, "Release The Wall on DVD from 1980-81 and stop milking The Wall".

I would love to hear those demos that only five people have heard.
