The concept is relationships and all of the difficulties involved, especially communication. Of course almost any piece of music can be perceived differently by the listener, but in this case between David's marriage and Roger leaving the band there was much to be let out. Listen to TDB with two different angles in mind, is David speaking about a relationship with a woman or his relationship with Roger? I think it's a combination of the two. With these thoughts in mind the concept should be clear. Keep in mind the context, the time it was written and think of singing some of these to your ex-lover (or ex-band mate)....
