Can you help?!
Dear all,
I've registered to seek your advice!.....
I'm getting married later this year and would love to drift up the aisle to the sound of Dave Gilmour's voice (civil ceremony). I've been trying to think of an appropriate song. It needs to be relatively short, as I appreciate it would be sacralidge to cut into the classics.
I love the version of Fat Old Sun from the Remember This Night DVD and wondered if anyone might know if this is available on audio CD? The thing is, I don't particularly want the sound of the crowd in it (fussy, I know - typical bride!)
I also love Hushabye Mountain from his earlier performance at the Royal Albert Hall, but have the same problem!
Does anyone know how I might get round this?! Alternatively, I'd really welcome suggestions for other Pink Floyd songs.
Many thanks

It's David's voice all over the "David Gilmour in Concert" DVD (2002), from the "Features" menu, then choose "Miscellaneous", then "Sonnet 18 by Shakespeare" (w/ music by Michael Kamen) selection. It's not Pink Floyd, but has that beautiful voice over a beautiful piece. Classic, romantic....and it's short. ;-)

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river
Forever and ever.

RE: Can you help?!
To answer your question, Fat Old Sun is on the Pink Floyd album "Atom Heart Mother" (you could fade out before the guitar solo). It's probably on iTunes too, then it only costs 79p.
Some others could be Smile or Where We Start from his "On An Island" album.
