RE: bass or keyboard
keyboard, it's the best first instrument to learn (psst, bass=guitar)

And now the final solution can be applied.

RE: bass or keyboard
All depends on how much effort and time your willing to put into it.

Keyboard = Yeh you have to learn to read music first.
Bass = Yeh you can learn tabs first but later on your going to have to learn music and this is were the keyboard playing would be an advantage

However all that aside great to see Greg posting in this subforum nice one buddy should come do some spring cleaning more often.

Great point and you're absolutely right. (I knew what you meant, sometimes I can act like another jackass Pinch) The bass has almost always been considered a "lesser" (not by me!) instrument unless wielded by Flea or Entwistle to name just a couple. Don't let that dissuade you, the rhythm section drives any band.

And now the final solution can be applied.

Yeesh, then fix it all the way. Roger isn't in the same league as a bassist though.

RE: bass or keyboard
definitely choose bass

i had to make the same kind of decision about 7 years ago cuz all my buddys played guitar. i chose bass and loved it

its a much more versatile instrument than most people give it credit for. and all that i learned from playing the bass helped me learn keys rather quickly a couple years ago.
