Hello.
So I just stumbled across this PF board in my surfings while trying to find interviews and other tidbits.
This place looks fairly civil and organized, as well as alive.
Look forward to wasting many hours here.
I've liked the Floyd for years, although I'm too young to have ever seen them live (The Wall came out 4 years before I was born, you do the math...)
Up until recently they were just another band to me, but then something clicked and I can't stop listening to them.
Anyway I hate introductions, I never really know what to say, so peace to everyone and I will see you around.
*EDIT* now if anybody can help me with my avatar and my sig that would be great haha. seems every single board does it differently....thx!
*EDIT2* just read the post about hosting the images. so i removed my sig image. but if anybody could help me center the 'shine on' quote that'd be great :)

Yeah, except most of us can't read it because we can no longer hit the reply button, and even if we could we'd only be able to see the last 10 or so posts anyway. Not that I personally care, and I know this new thread was my idea, but I just thought I'd point that out.

Um... okay... Hi, all.
My name's Paul (as you can tell from my moniker), I'm 50, Los Angeles native. I play 12-string acoustic guitar, self-taught, since I was 16 years old.
I only belong to two forums - this one, and American humorist Dave Barry's. You each find yourselves in good company!
I've been a Floyd freak since Meddle - Echoes was my first exposure and still the PF song that moves me the most. I play A LOT of Floyd in my gigs, major hits (Comfortably Numb, Time, etc.) to more obscure stuff (Mother, Free Four, etc.)
My all-time favorite Floyd album, all things considered, is Animals. Lyrically I think it has the best imagery, and musically the texture and soundscape is haunting, especially in Dogs and Sheep.
I used to think that a friend of mine and myself were the biggest Floyd fans on the planet, knew the most PF trivia, knew the most lyrics, etc. - UNTIL I met you folk!!!
Kindred spirits. I feel welcome!
