RE: 2008-2009 american football thread
I'll start with college since that shows more promise in this area anyway. We have a new coach who is going to bring a hopefully more exciting offense. But I'm not expecting great things for Michigan this year.

Now the Lions......they might surprise us and a go 3 and 13 or something....

As for Favre coming back. I think he's being a selfish bastard and is putting himself ahead of the team. The team was happy to let him retire because they want to start looking towards the future. As long as he's on the team, they wont be able to do that.

I couldn't agree more. Favre has played out this lame scenario for too many years.
Sorry Brett, get a therapist to get over your bad feelings, you've certainly milked enough cash out of questionable legacy to pay for it.

Besides that, "Get your popcorn ready"!

And now the final solution can be applied.

I wouldn't say he has a questionable legacy but I do think that he's played out this scenario one too many years. The problem with last year is that Green Bay came so close to the promised land. Oh well.

And Lions to Kitna: Please...retire...Thanks.

Who didn't see the Farve thing coming? The first thing I said about two minutes into his "retirement" speech was that he "is going to play football next season". You could just tell. I think both sides are rather immature about it, but if he guy wants to play football, just let him. It bothers me that they won't let him do what he wants, but that's the way of the game I guess.
