Uncut Magazine "PF's 30 Greatest Songs"
The October issue of Uncut magazine has a cover story about "Pink Floyd 30 Greatest Songs," chosen by David, Nick, their friends, fellow musicians, and famous fans, many of them PF associates (people like Robert Wyatt, Ron Geesin, Bob Ezrin, Gerald Scarfe, Andy Fairweather-Low, Storm Thorgerson, Peter Jenner, Phil Manzanera, and Joe Boyd). There are also a lot of contributions from experimental bands like Hawkwind, Television, Flaming Lips, and Psychic TV. The introduction is written by Dave, and Dave and Nick write articles about Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Set the Controls, respectively.

It's a pretty interesting list... probably wouldn't correspond with most top 30 lists by the members of this board at all, but in some ways that makes it more interesting. It's very Syd-centric, and has a fair number of stuff from the post-Syd experimental stuff (Green Is the Colour, Fat Old Sun, If, Set The Controls, Careful With That Axe, Atom Heart Mother Suite, See Saw). The "classic" period is pretty well represented too, with a couple of glaring exceptions: nothing from OBC, and especially oddly, nothing from Animals. Of the post Wall stuff, only High Hopes makes the list.

Anyway, the article is a great read, with lots of good perceptions about PF and their songs from worthy people, many of whom were directly involved with PF or inspired by them. I'll post the full list later for those who are interested.

How can nothing from Animals be included? I would put in all three lengthy tracks in my Top 30 List anyday. Angry

R. I. P Rick Wright (28/07/43-15/09/08)

Wait wait, no Dogs, Pigs, Sheep, Coming Back To Life, On The Turning Away, Marooned, The Gunner's Dream, The Final Cut...?!?!?!?!??!?!?

WTF man

Though very nice to see Fat Old Sun and CWTAE make entry, but putting in Atom Heart Mother and not any Animals track in is just ridiculous

Could you please scan it to internet? It's not like people like me who live in Finland can get to read the article :(
