In David Gilmour's excellent recent interview with this month's magazine Mojo (in the UK) he's asked the follwing:

MOJO: "Is the 5.1 Surround Sound version of Wish You Were Here ever going to come out?"
GILMOUR: "Yes. But when I last listened to it, there were still problems which need sorting out before we release it."

That's all. So for all those who have become cynical and incredulous overtime (like me!), I suppose there is still hope. Note the absence of the word "SACD" in the interview. It may not mean anything, but as I have said before, I wouldn't be surprised if this Surround WYWH came out on DVD instead. To be honest I don't care anymore as long as it comes out.

The good news is that it seems that this project has taken so long, and has presumably been so meticulously done, that the end product should be as successful as DSOTM SACD. If it does it will have been worth the wait.

Hopefully once Gdansk is out of the way David Gilmour will have more time to concentrate on getting Surround WYWH released.
