"It Would Be So Nice" = one of the most underrated songs in the PF library

I have no idea why it was panned by everybody (even Nick and Roger). It's a great song and I get it stuck in my head all the time.

Coenzym Wrote:Since we all are crying our eyes out for Rick, May he rest in peace, I thought that it could be a good idea if we here on PFO made a playlist containing some of Ricks most brilliant pieces of arts.
Just write the songs and i will update the thread, and perhaps eventually make a poll.?
By the way, i hope i wasnt the only one to cry while listening to The Great Gig In The Sky Sad

The Great Gig In The Sky
Wearing The Inside Out

Shine On You Crazy Diamond

A Saucerful Of Secrets

i agree with every song you listed!
for everyone, id like to give you the opportunity for viewing pleasure if you haven't already seen it : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FVjqiYEHkg
If you dont have time to watch the whole thing, start at 2 minutes, and then if you have to, fast forward to 3.55min.
Its a gorgeous young Rick wailing away and singing sweetly to Astronomy Dominine and the like. Fantastic - I can't help but smile broadly just watching him. Enjoy!

Summer of 68

Great GiG In The Sky

Us an Them

Stay

Above all, Rick was instrumental in forging the "Pink Floyd Sound" that culminated in their landmark album DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, even lending the background voice on Eclipse, not to mention his contribution of US AND THEM.
Roger Waters gets more attention than he deserves, although he certainly deserves his fair share of credit, to the overall experience that we know as PINK FLOYD. but - much like The Beatles - the sum was greater than the parts.

We all die and, since I am the same age as Richard Wright, it is our time to start passing on so the next generation can experience the same fate as we expect.

Thank you PINK FLOYD and RICHARD WRIGHT for bringing a momentary lapse of day to day drudgery to our lives with your creative and entertaining music.

Until we Break On Through to the other side with Interstellar Overdrive and meet again, may you always Shine On You Crazy Diamond!!!

RE: Ricks Best Songs
Here's "Rolling Waves," Mojo magazine's list of Rick's "finest recorded moments." Obviously, they are focusing on recordings, not songwriting, since the first song is not a Rick Wright song:

1). Matilda Mother
2). Remember a Day
3). Summer '68
4). Echoes
5). Stay
6). Great Gig in the Sky
7). Us and Them
8). Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part VIII-IX (part IX, by the way, is credited to Rick only)
9). Wearing the Inside Out
10). Breakthrough
