Mojo magazine does 8-page farewell feature to Rick
The December 2008 issue of Mojo magazine has a really wonderful 8-page farewell tribute to Richard Wright, "Rick Wright and the death of the dream." Among other things, it includes a list of Rick's finest recorded moments, a lot of great pictures (many of which I've never seen before) and a 3 page interview that was either his last interview ever, or his last interview with Mojo (the way it's worded is a little vague). Anyway, check it out: it's well worth the price of the mag.

Just read the whole lot, thanks. What I didn't know was Ricks love for Greece and Villa on Rhodes, huh, I have been to Lindos 6 times and rate it as one of my most favourite places in the world, I tried to buy a house there 7 years ago and ended up in Crete.rocker

After so many years of being a Floyd fan, I don't find too much stuff that I don't know anymore. But, a couple of tidbits from this article: according to Rick, Echoes was primarily his composition musically. Also, according to Peter Jenner, Rick "sorted out the harmonies and told everyone what to sing" on Piper. Both of these things make perfect sense, but it's the first time I've personally heard either one. [/align]

Personally I'm skeptical about Echoes part - I doubt he ment that literally. I mean large parts of Echoes doesn't sound at all Rick's style but very Gilmourish.

I guess he ment the "main" part, aka the verses and music in them.
