Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean. I can't say I've had that feeling, though, like most Syd fans, I'm often sad about what happened to him.

wow i never saw a picture of syd post madcap laughs that is really sad
to awnser your question sometimes without him there would be no pink floyd. its just sad that he never was able to really reap the rewards of founding one of the greatest bands in the history of rock.

Yeah...I think I know what you mean now. It is sad. Tbach Wrote:its just sad that he never was able to really reap the rewards of founding one of the greatest bands in the history of rock.
I hadn't thought of that specific facet of it before. You're right.

RE: I feel Like.....
I don't feel like I owe him or any other musician anything, I do my part and buy their music (not steal it). In this case I was not a fan of his era of Floyd. To me the only good thing he did was name the band, credit given for a cool name. However, anyone who thinks it was anything but his own fault should watch "Which One's Pink-The Pink Floyd Story" and listen to what his band mates have to say about those times. Yes, they were his friends, but not his keeper. To me a junkie is a junkie, him, Hendrix, Joplin, Entwistle, Michael Jackson, whoever of these people who took their own lives through drug overdoses or worse, suicide, I've written off. Credit given to their gifts and talents, but wasting it totally changes my outlook on them. Harsh maybe, realistic without fluff, yep. Talent does not excuse stupidity.
And now the final solution can be applied.

Not really he has himself to blame for the drug use, Of course its not all due to that he had mental problems aswell.
But it was certainly not all the industry's fault.
Kimbers Sheep Wrote:Agreed, the indusrty had little or nothing to do with Syd's inability to continue to function as a member of PF, if anything his band mates were more of the problem, contributing to his decline by basically ignoring the problems until it was basically too late.

Guy's I've read, that his flat mates would put acid in his coffee, and they were why he had his first trip, and even Rick has said, that some of it was pressure to write another hit.
