Has anyone noticed the middle of Money from Pulse?

It has a much jazzier sound than any version I've heard.

Actually, that bit is at the end of Learning To Fly.

Echoes on Live at Pompeii is truly better than anything. The solo is so much different from the studio version its so epic and awesome. And they were all so young then so being able to see them do Echoes and One of these days, CWTAE and ASFOS etc is a real treat. I believe that all 4 of thoes songs are better live, but they still have great merit on the studio versions.

live performances can convey lots of feeling though

When it comes to shear audio quality, I generally prefer studio over live versions.
I do think that David Gilmour's solo material sounds better live than in studio, i.e. "On an Island" sounds better on Disc 1 of "Live in Gdansk" than it does on the LP.
But I don't think you can beat Roger Waters' studio mastery.

Fat Old Sun live from 1970-71 is downright amazing.

I need to find a bootleg of The Travel Section, (On the Run before they used the Synth) somewhere. It sounds pretty good from the preview on the Dark Side of the Moon documentary IMO.

RE: Live Sounds Better Than Studio?
All the songs on Live at Pompeii are better than their studio counterpart.

Echoes, A Saucerful of Secrets, Careful with that Axe Eugene, One of these Days, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, even Seamus sounds better with Madmoiselles Nobs.

Rest in Peace, Billy Mays
