Well almost anything is better when your drunk, or at least untill you wake up, Nick Mason Played one heck of a Guitar hero, but what do you expect when he pays REAL drums you would just think that he would be good at 4 buttons shaped like drums, its really common sense

I understand Bill and Nick's point. But if it gets them into music and playing music so what?

I actually played rockband as a kid and I really loved it and I did great at it, I can do expert on everything but Singing xD but actually Rockband helped get me into playing the guitar. Ive been playing for a year and I'm really getting into it. Most people think Im was stupid and a group of friends actually decided to get together and criticize me openly, on facebook about it. I ignored them knowing that I was actually going to pursue playing guitar (the instrument I play). I agree with what both Mason and what Alex has to say I think people may spend too much time on the game then the real instrument and that their time is better spent on the real instrument but I think if they are young then they probably are not mature enough to actually play the instrument and they can play their game. But when they get old enough and mature enough to appreciate music, to have the patience to learn it and to see that playing a real instrument is much more satisfying then the game, they will strive to learn the real instrument if they believe it is what they love. If playing music seriously is not their thing then its their loss!!! So you see rockband isn't that bad! And its fun btw! Showing off your skills xD well once i progress on the REAL guitar i can show them some REAL skills :D
