I was drivin home from work today and Have a Cigar came on the radio.

One of the lyrics to the song is supposedly "...And I mean that most sincerely" but as much as I try to hear that, I instead hear "And I mean that most ten-say", lol. (no meaning to word, just what it sounds like.)

According to most lyrics sites, it's "Sincerely", but I just don't hear it.

Has anyone else noticed that? Is it just me? Am I hearing it wrong? Does anyone actually hear "Sincerely"? What does it sound like to you?

I've never seen this adressed anywhere, and my Google-fu eluded me on this 1 as well.

If I had to guess, I would say Floyd actually had "sincerely" written for Roy to sing, but it came out wrong. Or it just didn't flow off the tongue right, so he made up a word, lol.

I don't hear the Ten say, but to me it sounds like sincere as opposed to sincerely? There are allot of Floyd songs I have the same problem occassionally?

yeah it does sound like he says ten-say. I don't know. Sometimes it sounds like he says ten-say and other times it sounds like sincerely.

I always hear 'Sincerely' hahaha. Never even thought about it being anything else.

This is what it sounds like to me, too. I think it was just the way Roy sang it, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I hear it says 'I mean that most truthfully..'. I figure there's something wrong with me.

If you listen to it through earphones / headphones you can just about hear the -ly at the end, as if he turned from the mic as he sang it or something.
