The song premiered in the film of the Wall. The Final Cut was originally intended to be movie versions of Wall songs (and ended up being a compilation of songs they had cut from the Wall, plus a few new ideas), and was only tacked on to the Final Cut recently as part of a remaster sales pitch.

I don't expect there are too many Floyd fans who do not consider WTTBF a Wall song. But to each his own. Feel free to skip it.
