Hi all,

Got my tickets booked for the Aussies O2 arena show in London on 23rd April. This will be my sixth time seeing them and I cant wait! Show report will follow when I get back home to Belgium a couple of days after the concert. Any other forumites going to be there?

RE: Australian Pink Floyd Show 2010 UK tour
Just got home after a weekend in London. Saw the Aussies perform at the O2 on Friday night, 6th time for me, first time to the O2. I estimated that there must have been between 5000 to 6000 people there at the concert. The Aussies were stunning as normal. Set list was:

Speak To Me
Breathe
On The Run
Time
The Great Gig in the Sky
Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts I-V
Welcome To The Machine
Pigs On The Wing, Part I
Sheep

Intermission

Astronomy Domine
Learning To Fly
High Hopes
Careful with That Axe Eugene
Keep Talking
Take it Back
The Gunners Dream
The Happiest Days Of Our Lives
Another Brick In The Wall Part II
Wish You Were Here
One Of These Days
Comfortably Numb

Run Like Hell

Musically the concert was amazing, my only critique was that Ian sounded a bit off singing the Gunners Dream, but then he does a far better Roger Waters voice than I ever will!
The light and lazer show accompanying the songs was truly awesome, second only to when I saw the Floyd at Earls Court in the early nineties.

Two songs really jumped out at me on Friday night; Sheep and Careful With That Axe Eugene. They arent my favourite Floyd songs by far, but I thought they were really well done at the show.

Another critique I had of the show was the amount of people moving about while the band were playing. I found it rather rude to the band. I can understand people need to go to the toilet every now and then but isnt that what an intermission is for? At any one time whilst the band were playing there seemed to be about 50 or 60 people moving about, going outside to buy drinks etc. I had not seen this on this scale at an TAPFS concert before and cant remember seeing this at Earls Court all those years ago. Excuse me if it sounds like a bit of a rant, but I found it very rude towards the band who were doing an excellent job.

Ceevor, if you are still in contact with Ian Cattell could you please ask him if the band noticed this whilst they were playing on Friday night or was it just deemed "normal".

Cant wait till the next time.

I was there too iain mchenry and couldn't agree more with your review, it was annoying with the people all over the place, in fact me and Mrs OF moved seats in the second part, a good night though.

OF,

Good to see another forum member at the show. Are you going to see them again this year?

Yes, I'm in contact whenever he's home, in fact he sat in with Childhood's End on April 16th before he returned to the UK for this tour. I don't believe the crowd moving around is even noticed by the band. They're far too busy! It's always far more of an issue to the other audience members when others are rude milling about during a set.

And now the final solution can be applied.

I doubt it, I'm back off to Greece soon but glad I caught the show, it's the first time I've been to the O2 and it's only half hour from me by train. I also meant to add my other gripe, beer and food allowed in the arena, why? Angry

Thanks for the review Iain. There were 6,000 people in the O2. If you were looking carefully at the people moving around in the audience, you would have seen that one of them was Ian! He went for a walkabout during the second half when he wasn't on stage. Also, Rob Stringer, who plays keys in the band on the North American tours, was standing by Gareth on the desk through the show.

The Australian Pink Floyd Show UK Tour 2010 live concert in London O2 Arena promises to blow away loyal Pink Floyd fans and is also a great opportunity for those who don't know the band to learn why they are one of the greatest the world has ever known.

Genius is an immense capacity for taking trouble
