The Beatles - The breakdown of who wrote what
I was bored and I threw together a comprehensive breakdown of who wrote every Beatles song. The grand total of songs in the list is 312.
I used the following albums:
Official canon:
Please Please Me
With the Beatles
A Hard Day's Night
Beatles for Sale
Help!
Rubber Soul
Revolver
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Magical Mystery Tour
The Beatles
Yellow Submarine
Abbey Road
Let It Be
Past Masters
Official post break-up releases:
Anthology 1
Anthology 2
Anthology 3
Live at the BBC
Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962
Bootlegs:
Acetates
Get Back and 22 Other Songs
The Complete Christmas Collection
I omitted songs I didn't have, and songs that have not been released.
The breakdown:
Songs written by John Lennon: 63
Songs written by Paul McCartney: 67
Songs written by George Harrison: 23
Songs written by Ringo Starr: 1
Songs written* by George Martin: 7
Songs co-written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney: 50
Songs co-written by John Lennon and George Harrison: 1
Songs co-written by John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr: 1
Songs co-written by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr: 9
Songs co-written** by John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Yoko Ono: 1
Songs co-written by Paul McCartney and George Harrison: 1
Songs co-written*** by Paul McCartney and George Martin: 1
Songs co-written by George Harrison and Ringo Starr: 1
Songs written by others (covers): 83
Traditional songs: 3
* - These 7 songs were orchestral pieces composed by George Martin included on Yellow Submarine, which posed as the soundtrack for the movie of the same name.
** - This one's "Revolution 9," a song that's not really a song, per se. It includes input by Lennon, Harrison, Starr and Lennon's wife Yoko Ono, and, considering that it's not really a "song," I listed it as such.
*** - Another orchestral piece, "Yellow Submarine in Pepperland," a song based off of McCartney's "Yellow Submarine."
Also, any questions, comments or suggestions are welcome.

Wut.
But, I thought Ringo contributed the most, and John didn't do anything! This can't be right.
Snake, history will never know what she did. No one will ever learn the truth. Her story... her debriefing... will endure only in your heart. Everything she did, she did for her country. She sacrificed her life and her honor for her native land. She was a real hero. She was a true patriot. ~ EVA re: The Boss (MGS3)

Lol, whenever my friends and I play Rock Band, whoever is drumming (it's become a joke) always says in a British accent "Hey guys, Let's play Octopus's Garden!"

I can see it now.
You forgot "Don't Pass Me By". And to Three Different Ones, John wrote more than Ringo, everyone knows that. I just like Ringo better because I find it hard to respect someone who sang about peace and yet was quite violent.
