I tried to use my guitar as a bass. Failed. I tried to find a jam-along on Youtube. Failed. I tried to approach my mother about my recently diagnosed autism and my atheism. Failed. Bad day.

huh... weird

Not weird at all really. If you clicked on page one you would see that this version of the notebook was started in January this year when the forum was experiencing some issues with longer, content filled threads, so new one had to be started.
As far as "being on about something" still, the posts are date and time stamped, so the length of the discussion should be evident as well.

And now the final solution can be applied.

RE: The Notebook v. 3.0
I see the DADT thread was shot in the butt because someone got ticked off, such is life. It dosen't take much to stir the crap bucket for some when it comes to homosexual people & abortion, even when it's the truth, these two subjects can't take much public scrutiny. I believe people have the freedom to choose their own life (my cousin chose this lifestyle, he was treated for HIV 5 years & died from AIDS 3 months later). It looks like maybe DrKole's stats may be pretty accurate, below is a few of the sites I looked up. If you're not real sure about them, please do your homework.....remember these are just stats, the truth is always far stranger.

And I think you mis-read his "stats". He said 30% of gay people are HIV/have AIDS, NOT that 30% of people with HIV were gay, HUGE difference.

RE: The Notebook v. 3.0
Homosexuality isn't a lifestyle, dear. You're either born gay or you're born straight. If it's a "lifestyle" how do you account for tons of research showing homosexuality in the animal kingdom? You mean to tell me a penguin can choose to be gay or choose to be straight?

Also, the reason the thread got sh!tcanned was because the tone and topics the thread devolved into were heading down the "Homophobes Welcome!" highway, and I didn't start the thread for that to happen, I had actually hoped an intelligent conversation about the subject could be had. I clearly was wrong.

If you don't like gay people, fine. Your choice. You don't like abortion either? Your choice too. However, keep your religiously-backed displeasure of those two things to yourself and let the rest of us evolved people carry on in the 21st century. Now have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Big difference, yes. But the stats is all that I was refering to, whether they lie about their status is anyone's guess. But then we still have those that hide behind the bi label, blood transfusions, etc. How many of these are gay, asking them would be profiling, and that's just not right, according to some people. As I see it, if a man is married & keeps going back to men, he is gay. There's really no telling what the actual percentage would be if the real numbers were tallied up.

RE: The Notebook v. 3.0
You can get HIV or AIDS through blood transfusions, although that is increasingly rare now that all blood that is donated is automatically tested for a whole host of maladies, that included. In fact, it was the increasing infection rate amongst hemophiliacs that prompted the blood banks to demand a test for HIV, because it was infecting and killing people whom they thought were outside the target demographic for the disease. No one thought heterosexuals had to worry about infection.............until they started getting infected. Do you know who the biggest at-risk group for HIV infection in this country is? Women. Do you know the infection rate of AIDS in Africa right now and the biggest at-risk group there? Women and children. Not gay men, not drug users, not bisexuals......women and children. AIDS does not discriminate, AIDS infects anyone it comes into contact with, it doesn't care what genitals you enjoy messing around with.

As for bisexuals, I myself am a hetero chick and have no desire for women, but there are people in this world believe it or not, who are sexually attracted to both genders. Nothing wrong with that.

I really think the DADT thread should be re-opened. Opinions will have to go somewhere, and it would be foolish to let them flood into other threads.
