I'm sure you all know the story of Syd randomly appearing in the studio in 1957, when the floyd were recording Wish you were here.
I just think it's amazing he happend to be there while they wree specifically recording "Shine on You Crazy Diamond". and Syd saying it sounds a bit old, and leaving. It's absolutley crazy.

Listening to Shine On and realizing David was only 9 years old when he wrote that.....no wonder Fender did a replica of the Black Strat.

It's kinda creepy to hear (or read) that story. It's almost as if Syd has E.S.P. I can see Syd at home thinking "Right... Now is the time to go and freak out my old mate's in Pink Floyd"

It's stories like this that add to the already mysterious aura around the band. It must have been mind blowing for the band to witness that sort of thing, it would have messed with their heads for a long while.

Exactly. :) My two favorite bands (being the Floyd and The Beatles) are full of these stories, and I don't think I would like these bands as much if the mysteries weren't there.
