Definitely an interesting list and there's some good discussion that can come from it. Floyd is #3 behind Led Zeppelin and The Beatles (boy, I'm shocked Rolleyes ). They did rank higher than LZ in innovation and higher than The Beatles in terms of live performances, so that's a good thing. They definitely ranked higher than The Beatles in technical ability, which is no surprise.

What does everyone else think?

I honestly think The Beatles are the most overrated band in history. I respect what they did for music and they were all very talented, but they're miles away from the best band ever. I just never got the big deal with them.

It's nice to see Floyd as high as they are, though. I don't normally see them ranking very high on lists.

I'm very disappointed to see AC/DC at only #26, though. I understand why they would rank lower with their criteria, but damn if they're not the most rockin' band ever.

You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to, so that when they turn their backs on you, you'll get the chance to put the knife in.

I echo your sentiments about The Beatles. I don't think anyone is going to argue they outright sucked or anything, but some people tend to inflate their actual abilities beyond what they were.

They weren't asking the illustrious Perth public. If they had, we'd obviously know their answer.

BTW, did New Jersey buy Perth or something? Maybe the mayor (do you have mayors in Australia?) is from Hoboken? Otherwise I can't explain that city's hang-up on an 80s hair metal band whose best music is almost 30 years old.
