Pink Floydy win legal battle
Saw this on the net today.

Pink Floyd and EMI Group Ltd have settled their legal dispute and agreed to a new five-year contract.

Last year the band sued its longtime label for digitally selling individual tracks "unbundled" from their original albums.

Pink Floyd won an early round of the court battle, but the complex case rumbled on as EMI made an unsuccessful appeal.

EMI said on Tuesday that "all legal disputes between the band and the company have been settled as a result of this new deal", which will see EMI continue to market and distribute Pink Floyd's catalogue.

Pink Floyd signed with EMI in 1967 and became one of its most lucrative acts.

EMI, which also has The Beatles, Coldplay and Lily Allen on its books, has struggled financially since it was bought by a private equity firm in 2007.
I've just noticed the title of my thread. Pink Floydy? I wish lol.

Excellent news. Pink Floyd should have the right to dictate in what form their music is disseminated to the fans, and if that means only as full albums, not invididual tracks, then so be it.

Pink Floydy, you say?

But, yeah, great news. Who do you mean by Pink Floyd? David and Nick?

...our minds shot together.

No, it would be David, Nick, Roger, and Rick's heirs or whomever is executor of his estate. It's their music, and even though the band hasn't done anything since 1994, Roger isn't legally a member of the band anymore, and Rick is deceased, they still get royalties and publishing rights and all that, which is what this covers, in part.
