I agree, he had a good voice when he was young. You can notice it in Echoes, the studio and live in pompeii versions. In Remember A Day, and Summer '68. Yes, I totally agree. But, when he got old, he lost the quality, but he still had the warmth.

I've always found his voice to be incredibly good in the studio and very terrible live.

I thought he had a fairly good voice when he sang live, although no one's voice stays the same when they get older. Even David's voice has changed, although thankfully not for the worse.

The only thing I hear about David's voice is that he has to put more effort into singing. (You also -see- that; raised eyebrows, raised chin...) Apart from that, his voice is awesome. I wonder how he does that... He probably practises a lot.

I think he's just naturally a very gifted man. He's always had great tone and pitch as a singer, and we all know how phenomenal he is as an instrumentalist.

David is built like an opera singer, he kind of sings from the diaphragm. Quite powerful.

I've been listening to Wet Dream a lot lately. What a criminally underrated album.

Wet Dream has a special mood. I like the flow of Waves, Cat Cruise and other 'jam-like' instrumentals. It just shows how good Rick was at playing with a band. Pink's Song, Holiday and Against The Odds are all gems. Summer Elegy is, in my opinion, pretty insipid. Mad Yannis Dance, apart from having interesting chord progression, is just an idea, not a finished instrumental.
Broken China really took me by surprise. It's his best solo record. The concept, the mood, the sound, pretty much everything is great. And the clip for 'A Night Of A Thousand Furry Toys' is spectacular.
But, with him having made 2 solo albums and one-off project 'Identity', I can't say he had fullfilled himself completely. In his last interviews he's talking about creating another record and it just makes me sad that he never got to putting it together. Perhaps we'll hear some of it one day.
