Dark Side of the Moo?
Ok, so this is really a pretty quick question, but any help ay all is appreciated. Ok so theres this store selling a Bootleg called Dark Side of the Moo on vinyl, still sealed/never used for $25.00, simply put, should I pick this up? Im not sure if the boot itself is decent or if its actually worth anything. Afterall there are places where you can get boot picture disks of the division bell for like $40.00 new, so is this one of those boots still being made?
Any and all help is appreciated.

RE: Dark Side of the Moo?
First of all, you shouldn't be buying bootlegs, and whoever is selling it should be horsewhipped. That said, according to what I've been able to find about that release, it was released in the mid-80s, and has the following tracklisting:
Side 1: (This side)
1. Astronomy Domine 4:08
2. Candy & a Currant Bun 2:43
3. Apples & Oranges 3:01
4. It Would Be So Nice 3:41
5. Interstellar Overdrive 3:04
6. Scream Thy Last Scream 4:44
Side 2: (Udder side)
1. Heart Beat, Pig Meat 3:09
2. Crumbling Land 4:12
3. Embryo 4:39
4. Point Me At The Sky 3:37
5. Come In Number 51, Your Time Is Up 4:57
6. Mademoiselle Knobs 1:50
Beyond that, there's not much else in the way of information about it out there. Frankly, you can get all those songs in better quality off official releases or if you're so inclined, other bootlegs you can find on the Internet for free. Embryo is on Works, which is an official release, Astronomy Domine is the version found on the UK release of PATGoD; Candy and a Current Bun, Apples and Oranges, Point Me At The Sky, and It Would Be So Nice can all be found on The Early Singles, which is a part of the Shine On boxed set.
Do not waste your money on this. It's unnecessary.

Thanks for the info! The guy who owns the store has a lot of official and unofficial stuff from just about every band, real nice guy. Thus I deem that a horsewhipping is not neccasary, especially since he only sells what he gets and he knows his stuff, also where else am I supposed to find first pressing Syd Solos on vinyl for 20 dollars? lol. But yeah I probably shouldn't buy it based on what you said, I was kind of hoping it would be one of those rare instances where the boot is almost as good as an official live album (a la Animal Instincts).

For example, nearly every performance of The Embryo they did live clocked in at over 10 minutes. Same for Astronomy Domine and Interstellar Overdrive. It would be one thing if it was a bootleg of live performances, or a recording of an entire show, but it's not.
As for my horsewhipping comment, while maybe a tad on the exaggeration side, what isn't an exaggeration is the fact I don't like it when people sell bootlegs. Bootlegs should be freely available to anyone who wants them, considering that you don't really have the right to sell pirated copies of live performances made without the band's permission. At least, that's how I see it.
Its fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Plus I didn't really specify on the seller, from the way I worded it, it could have easily been interpretted as some store trying to cheat me by acting like its a rare and a must have. I do agree that bootlegs should be freely distributed, but hey, if this guy gave away everybootleg he has for free, his store might be a little easier to navigate. He does have his own personal recording of a show from Pink Floyd from when they were touring either the man in the journey or something that incorporated Ummagumma a lot (I can't remember). And I don't mean he has a boot of it, he literally has a tape recording, he made of a early seventies/late sixties show. Possibly the most rare Pink Floyd recording ever? lol, but thanks a lot for the help.
