Fan advice needed on Floyd item on ebay.
Hello all.
New member here and after some advice (why I joined). A few friends are getting some money together for a school colleague who is 40 in November. I have been charged with getting the present sorted and have been sifting my way through ebay to find something good. Needless to say, he is a massive Floyd fan and I found this today. Could anyone let me know their initial thoughts. Seems like a class item but is obviously an investment. Quesion is, as a huge Floyd fan, would you be happy to receive it or is there better stuff out there??

Much appreciated.Innocent

Im with Ritz,
Spending 250 on a poster doesnt seem worth it, Id say a nice ticket stub maybe the discovery Dark Side Of The Moon Cd.
That way you still have money left for something else if your budget is 250 gbp then that will cost you less than half, Still money for a nice bottle of Malt.

I personally wouldn't go for the poster or the ticket stub. If you want to get them something more interactive you could shoot for the Dark Side of the Moon Immersion box set. He is the remastered cd with lots of extra little goodies. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PINK-FLOYD-DARK-...http://www.ebay.com/itm/PINK-FLOYD-DARK-SIDE-MOON-IMMERSION-BOX-SET-BRAND-NEW-/320770992974?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item4aaf70eb4e#ht_3
There is also a box set called "Oh By the Way". This contains Floyd's 14 studio albums on CD but in exactly the same way they were released on vinyl. For example. The dark side of the moon originally came with 2 posters so in this box set the cd comes with 2 mini posters. Its really a cool collectors item for a big Floyd fan. check it out

I'd say go with the DSOTM Immersion Boxset

Rather than ticket stubs, try hunting down bootlegs. That way the person can "experience" the concert as if they were actually there in the stadium. Lots of great ones out there to be found.

As for Immersion vs. Discovery, it all depends on whether the person you're buying the gift for wants a lot of doo-dads or not. The Immersion box set has them, the Discovery does not.
