Did you know that......
* This is a new thread to share obscure tid bits of information that relates to Pink Floyd and its individual members past and present.
- In 2006, Alex Lifeson (Rush) met David Gilmour after a show he played for his "on an Island tour" at Toronto's Massey Hall. Amongst other things, the two discussed the art of songwriting and how they approach it.
Apparently this conversation made quite the impression on Alex as he credited David in the linear notes of the Snakes & Arrows record for the inspiration to write songs mainly on acoustic guitar.

Good idea Quicksilver.
Here's another one;
When Dave Mustain (Megadeth) was asked if he was inspired by Yngwie Malmsteen, he answered: "No, I like David Gilmour, and he hardly ever plays a note".

1974 film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" was filmed in part with financial contributions from Pink Floyd.
They were part of an investment group along with Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin and Tony Stratton-Smith (owner of Charisma Records).

In 1979 Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham, having seen Snowy White play with Pink Floyd in New York during the Animals tour, approached him about joining Thin Lizzy. And he did........1980-82
