Again, 10 is the best rating and 1 is the lowest/worst.

I must rate this album with an 8, but think that it's slighty better than Piper...I was almost tempted to give it a 9, but I can't quite go that high...

I went with 8. This album contains 3 of my absolute favorite Floyd tracks and 2 tracks that I really don't like.

My 3 favorites (in this order): ASOS (the song), Let There Be More Light, See-Saw
My 2 least favorites (in either order): Corporal Clegg, Jugband Blues

STCFTHOTS is my 4th fav. after See-Saw with Remember A Day coming in at #5. Here's my list:

1. ASOS
2. LTBML
3. See-Saw
4. STCFTHOTS
5. Remember A Day
6. Corporal Clegg
7. Jugband Blues

i had to give it a 6,

LTBML = Brilliant
RAD = Ok
STC = Brilliant
Corp. Clegg = Brilliant, Best Kazoo work ever
ASOS = studio version is a bit boring, not something i can listen to regulary
See Saw = Boring
Jugband Blues = Ok

the last three bring my rating down

The only Floyd record I haven't got in my collection as a stand alone. I have it as part of the 'Shine On' box set, and on vinyl and cassette. Rarely listen to it anymore....although, I do love 'Let There Be More Light' and 'Remember A Day'.....Saucerful IS boring, as was suggested, and Set The Controls is better live.....the rest.....meh!

Great Album, deserves an 8 in my book.

Let There Be More Light 8/10
Remember a Day 7/10
STCFTHOTS 10/10
Corporal Clegg 9/10
ASOS 9/10
See Saw 6/10
Jugband Blues 7/10

Without that Kazoo, Corporal Clegg rocks hard.

9.5; but a nine for the poll of course. WAY better than Piper and a really solid collection of songs.

As with Piper, I gave it a 9. It's better than Piper though - Piper would probably be about 8.7 while this is around 9.3. I don't really like Set The Controls, and See-Saw has got irritating after a while - I liked it when I first heard it though. Let There Be More Light and A Saucerful Of Secrets are awesome!

A solid 10. My favorite Pink Floyd album. The intro to Let There Be More Light, I think, is the best kick-off an album could have; Corporal Clegg and Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun are simply brilliant; the title track hints at the band's future glory, and it features a gong; two great tracks from Rick that just make me sad he dropped off the songwriting scene so soon afterwards; and finally, Syd's heartwrenching farewell to close it out. Seven scintillating songs.

If it ain't dirty, don't clean it.
