I work part-time at McDonald's and the other day when I was closing I took in some Floyd CD's to put on once we'd closed, and the first album I put on was Meddle. The bass solo came on and people were looking at me strangely and then when the weird voice came on they just kept staring at me as if to say "What is this crap?" Then a bit later, when the P*U*L*S*E version of Astronomy Domine was playing, the manager was walking past (he's a really nice manager) and he said to me (he was only joking, he wasn't being nasty or anything) "Your music sucks." Then he skipped it forward to What Do You Want From Me, which he didn't like either. So I put on Another Brick In The Wall part 2 instead, and he knew that one.
Oh, and he also did one of the worst things possible to do in the eyes of a Floyd fan - he stopped the CD while Echoes was playing!
Some people just don't get art... :D
So I was thinking I might take in Ummagumma next time and play Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict!
Anyone else seen people get totally confused/freaked out by Floyd?

Of course he knew ABITW Part II, almost all people know that song. It's been completely destroyed by radio. How could you possibly stop Echoes? Even if you're not a Floyd fan, it's one of the most amazing pieces of music you will ever hear. I'm sorry Sjmcd, I'm sure they're great people, but your fellow workers obviously don't "get it".
As for the Several Species idea, do it. Then they'll really be thinking WTF.
And I've never seen anyone get freaked out by Floyd music. One time my friend was over and I played Several Species and he looked at me funky. Several Species is one of the very few Floyd tracks that could literally freak you out, along with CWTAE & One Of These Days.

you've done well. you'll have to punish that guy who committed the unforgivable stop during Echoes.
now on to more important things. why the hell are you working at McDonald's?
I think he re-gifted and then he de-gifted and now he's using an upstairs invite as a springboard to a Super Bowl sex romp!

Call me what you will but I cannot trust a person's musical taste if they do not like PF.

I would just like to take this time to point out that the aberviation for that song is really long.
I don't think that old men ought to promote wars for young men to fight

Floyd is truely an aquired taste, i listened to rock and it took me forever to get into floyd. It teaches you patience over time, now 8 minute songs seem very quick to me vs echoes and such. Barely anyone can dive directly into them.
Youre one of a kind. Just like everybody else.

Weird. For me, I got Piper and it just clicked. Other bands, like The Who, I tried to like.

people who usually work at mcdonalds are fans of stupid things like rap and pop. Fact.
no offense to the guy who posted this though
