DSOTM and 'Animals' would be your next logical choices to buy. Then 'The Wall', if you don't already have it. After that, try spreading things out a bit chronologically.....'Piper' and 'Division Bell', then OBC and 'Lapse', for instance. This will probably blow your mind as to how diverse the band's albums really were....one of The Floyd's many strengths.
At any rate, have fun building your collection! :)

Quincy Wrote:hmmm...to mix up the flavor, maybe you should go with The Final Cut?
But if you liked Meddle, maybe you should give Obscured By Clouds a try...I take it you've already heard DSOTM and the studio album isn't too much different...(main difference would be Roger's vocals on the final two tracks...)
I'd say, the main difference between the PULSE and studio versions are... to me, the PULSE version sucks. I think it's because I find the vocals a little off because they're older, but I'm not sure. What I do know is, the studio is a lot better to my ears.

I would reccommend you take your time...this summer I bought about 6 PF albums, and then I got bored quickly, so I would reccommend you wait longer between each one, so you will have more fun exploring the depth of Pink Floyd

I usually don't discourage people from listening to The Final Cut-it is my favorite album-BUT it is very "in-your-face" politics. Just use your best judgement. Do you agree with Roger's political leanings-if not you may be somewhat offended by TFC. The Wall may be a safer bet. :)
its not that i dont like rogers political views, its the view of others i dont like.....anyways...
when i saw roger last week the song i was singing home was "fletcher"....i cheated and got the song off of itunes....but now i want the whole album.....fletcher is very moving to me...i keep listening to meddle....its just so...freaking good....and echoes is just mindblowing....so awesome...
Fletcher's among the worst songs on TFC. But I do love the orchestration.

Personally, I didn't like Animals. My favorite is Wish You Were Here, especially with the Shine On You Crazy Diamond parts. Dark Side Of The Moon was also very good, and here is a bit of a twist...get Echoes: The Best Of Pink Floyd. It is meant more for casual/new listeners, and then go from there on.
Also, Gilmour refused to be credited in The Final Cut, most likely because he did not agree with Waters.
