The general public in the UK listen to the bigest load of sh**e these days that the only Floyd you will ever here on the radio is ABITW pt 2 or on a very rare occasion Money, WYWH or CN. Better to have an MP3 player with all the Floyd and solo albums on it to listen to. :D

The Wall is much more commercial than DSotM, anyway.

Not true, The Dark Side of the Moon has much more merchandise and is much more radio friendly. That's a fact. How many times will you hear something from the wall other than the big 4 (HY, CN ABITWP2 and RLH) you're gaurenteed to hear most of the dsotm more. DSOTM is much more commercialised, and is way more over-hyped
Snake, history will never know what she did. No one will ever learn the truth. Her story... her debriefing... will endure only in your heart. Everything she did, she did for her country. She sacrificed her life and her honor for her native land. She was a real hero. She was a true patriot. ~ EVA re: The Boss (MGS3)

I'm not talking about merchandise here. I'm talking about sound, and especially production. The Wall has a great, big, slick, radio-friendly production. Bob Ezrin is a commercial producer who was already responsible for a number of hit albums before he produced The Wall. It's a big difference between having PF produce it themselves with Allan Parsons (who wasn't known at the time) engineering. DSOTM was slick in comparison to previous albums, but The Wall has far more production than DSOTM does.
Also, DSOTM was recorded by the 4 members of PF, plus Dick Parry and backing vocalists. The Wall had about 20 different musicians playing on it in addition to the members of PF. DSOTM is filled with the quirky, individual sound of Gilmour/Mason/Waters/Wright playing together, while the only musician who really shines through on The Wall is David Gilmour.

Seen as how the wall was made in order to save the band financially and they made a movie from it and there only number 1 single came frokm it. I don't think it's fair to say that DSOTM is more comercial than The Wall.

DSOTM is overrated, period.
It's a great album but it is worthless sh*t when you put it beside Echoes, Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast (which I think is the best floyd song ever, period period period.) or even songs like Bike and The Gnome which I find more original and interesting than that damn boring riff on Money, come on people, don't get fooled, Pink Floyd became more commercial from that point, they left behind there roots...
I'd love to hear the 23:36 Echoes on a radio station, that would be good, Speak To Me/Breath In The Air etc..., are so boring on the radio.

I personally think Echoes is overrated. DSOTM is great, and while the studio version of Money is a little too commercial for my liking (as it is for yours, apparently) I love the entire first side (it has a great flow and all the songs are absolute genius either musically or lyrically, even Speak To Me and On The Run) and ACYL is my favourite track. Yes, Echoes and APB are good, but DSOTM just has such a great flow to it.

WTF?? On the radio you're most likely to hear Another brick in the wall part 2 than Money. On a rare occasion you might get wish you were here or Comfortably Numb but I have never heard any other song from DSOTM being played.
Wow where do you live, radio here plays DSOTM beginning to end on occasion... I think it's a great album and I just tend to turn the station when it's on the radio though, if I want to hear it I'll put it on myself.

I agree that DSOTM flows very well, I like but it's just that most of the people think it's sooooooo great and yet most of them never heard anything of the older stuff, maybe Echoes is overrated too like you say, but I find more interesting than DSOTM which is radio friendly to the bones. Some songs like Grandchester Meadows, APB, Fearless, Let There Be More Light, Summer Of 68 etc... are underrated since people mostly listen to the recent** stuff, which is completely different.
