It seems as though More is many peoples least favorite Floyd album. I ask something... WHY!? I agree some of the instrumentals can get a little bland or annoying but i ask you to go into a dark room and listen to Cirrus Minor, Green Is The Colour, The Nile Song (a nice kick in the teeth after the previous two), Cymbaline, Ibiza Bar, even More Blues and Spanish Piece. Post your opinions on More and why or why not you enjoy it.

'More' is a little hit and miss, yeah. I like it a lot on occasion......some real standouts. I think(much like OBC is sort of a precursor to DSOTM)the album has a lot of early tracks that sound more than a little like what would eventually be developed for 'The Wall', ten years later. "The Nile Song" has very obvious similarities to "Young Lust", "Cirrus Minor" has lots of musical elements that ended up in "Mother", "Green Is The Colour" almost sounds like an early rendition of "Goodbye Blue Sky". I know a lot of this is down to song structure and album flow....shorter more stripped down songs.

On the other hand though....'More' doesn't even come close to the same production values as 'The Wall', and it has much less of a dynamic in sound, cohesiveness and conceptual nature. It's really a great study of just how far the band evolved in those ten years between the two records!

It's got a lot of stuff that would only come with a soundtrack, a lot of sort of boring novelty tracks. Has some great tracks too, but who really enjoys listening to Quicksilver? ???

I like More... just not as much as I like nearly every other Floyd album. Cirrus Minor and Cymbaline are GREAT, and I also like Green is The Colour, the Nile Song, and some of the loopy experimental instrumentals are quite cool and fun, and show Rick and Nick being creative.

The rest of the vocal songs are pretty unremarkable, though. The end of the album really doesn't do much at all for me, either: A Spanish Piece is probably my least favorite Floyd song ever--a ridiculous, completely unfunny parody of flamenco, and More Blues is the most utterly generic, boring blues jam I have EVER heard. Those two songs define the word "filler" for me.

I don't like More that much, it's just so disorganized and boring at times, but that's probably because it's a soundtrack. I love Green Is The Colour and Cymbaline though, and Cirrus Minor and a couple others like More Blues (although I could probably play a blues jam like that) aren't too bad, but songs like Party Sequence and Quicksilver are some of the most pointless songs ever. I normally like longer and spacey songs like Quicksilver, but that particular one really has no substance or spacey guitar solos in it.

I LOVE More. #3 of my favorites behind Obscurred By and AHM. I could listen to More over and over and over and over and never break during interrogation.
