lemme lay it on you nazz

AHM has 5 songs,

the middle three I find quite relaxing and mellow

OBC is wonderful, my favorite.

Relics is nice enough too, but I only listen to some of the songs

I don't think that old men ought to promote wars for young men to fight

I have The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, A Saucerful of Secrets, Atom Heart Mother, Relics, Meddle, Obscured by Clouds, The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall and The Final Cut, and Is There Anybody Out There

Which means I've yet to pick up

Ummagumma
More

A collection of dance songs, works, pulse, delicate sound of thunder, and a momentary lapse of reason, and the division bell. I don't really plan on picking up TDB or AMLOR cause frankly I have em on my computer courtesy of a friend, and I don't really WANT to buy them. Buying Echoes would be kind of pointless.. same as the Dance songs one. I have no idea what works is..DSOT..meh..Pulse..i don't think i'm gonna pick Pulse up either, unless I see it and I have money to spare

which leaves me at More..and Ummagumma..both the '69 albums, I've heard mixed things about both..and I dunno which to pick up first

Snake, history will never know what she did. No one will ever learn the truth. Her story... her debriefing... will endure only in your heart. Everything she did, she did for her country. She sacrificed her life and her honor for her native land. She was a real hero. She was a true patriot. ~ EVA re: The Boss (MGS3)

I would get Ummagumma first. I listen to this album more than any other. But a lot of people here seem to hate it, though.

I just can't get into More, but then again, I haven't really given it a fair chance.

I am yet to get More and Works. I don't have DSOTM, WYWH, Animals, The Wall, AGCODS, The Final Cut, AMLOR, DSOT or TDB but my dad has them, so I just ripped his CDs and now I have them all (and the ones I have) as lossless WMA on a dual-layer DVD. :music: .

I recommend you get AHM, then Relics, then OBC - that's just the order I like them in. AHM is my second favourite Floyd album (second to DSOTM), Relics has some great early stuff and OBC is, in my opinion, one of their weaker works - some songs are good but it doesnt sound as good as a whole as some of their other albums.

so i just need to get cds so i can take them everywhere with me
You can convert them to CD if you have a CD burner and a cable to connect your record/tape player to your computer - an RCA to 3.5mm stereo cable is probably best. There's some great software that does this really well that you can get at http://www.polderbits.com/.

I've decided to go ahead and get Atom Heart Mother...I will get Relics and especially OBC soon, but I figured it would do this for a start...I'm also waiting for Rick Wright's Broken China to come in!

I reckon that you will really enjoy Obscured by Clouds Quincy - great music. I have yet to get Ummagumma, A Collection of Great Dance Songs and Works. What songs are on Works and ACOGDS btw?

I've only listened to Atom Heart Mother for the second time through today, but I think I love it!!!

ATM is a GREAT track!
If is a nice change and I also think it's very nice.
Summer '68 is awesome and it makes me become even more impatient to hear some of Rick's solo material
Fat Old Sun is really sweet and it's also one of my new favs.
Alan's Psychadelic Breakfast is really cool! at first I was like, meh, but as it got going and I listened to it a second time, I changed my mind!!!
