A Momentary Lapse Of Reason sounds like a new band almost. Which in a way, it is. The Division Bell sounds more relaxed and confident overall. The songs are overall so much better. I don't know why some people do not like Poles Apart and High Hopes. Some of Pink Floyd's best tunes.

I dislike Poles Apart for its silly lyrics, the strange shift in the chorus, and the weird instrumental middle section. I love High Hopes though. I also think you're right about AMLoR sounding like a new band, and I think that TDB sounded like Pink Floyd again, just without the concepts and lyrics.
