'The Wall', by far. Good songs, concept, theatricality, etc.....but it's got a bit too much "Roger" on there. When it's good, it's a killer album, but there's some sections that are very weak ("Don't Leave Me Now", "The Show Must Go On"), so I certainly understand where Gilmour comes from in some of his criticisms......I do like "Vera/BTBBH" though....
It's aggravating to no end that a lot of people associate The Floyd with 'The Wall' only......not knowing what other better albums are in their catalog. It's an awesome album, don't get me whong, but DSOTM, WYWH, 'Animals', and probably 'Meddle' too just have much more to offer in terms of flow, balance, and musicality. As much as I love 'The Final Cut', however, I don't think it's a better album than 'The Wall'......nor is OBC or 'Division Bell'.....so it still ranks up there for me.....

I voted "Meddle". I think The Wall and DSOTM deserve the hype, even though I've heard both about a billion times. While Meddle is good, I don't think it deserves "best Floyd album ever" status that some people give it. I don't even think it belongs in the top 5.

I actually agree. I have only just realised that the only reasons I thought Meddle was amazing was because of Echoes and One of These Days. Now, I know those two are great songs but the others in the middle aren't amazing and, as the expression goes, two players don't make a team, so two tracks don't make an album.
I also feel that Piper is heavily overrated by many people.

I think The Wall is over rated because there's not nearly enough music when compared to story telling.

I voted Animals.
And why would anyone vote Meddle ? :Oo:
Besides hardcore fans, hardly anyone knows it.

I hav'nt read all the posts but I don't think any of the albums are overrated, even DSOTM, in fact sales show that it still is a great album, it was especially good when I heard it for the first time in the 70s, so maybe it's different for younger generations, it was different and it had an affect, in fact thats what I like about Floyds music, it's never the same, unlike some artists, love at first sight :D

I voted Piper, because IMHO Piper has not aged terribly well in light of the way rock music in general has developed over the years. I think it would have been more of a blind alley developmentally too, and Syd's solo albums convince me about this point.
I think that if Syd had been more stable and had stayed on that Pink Floyd would have ended up sounding an awful lot like Caravan (and that's no insult, I love Caravan but they didn't leave anywhere near the same recorded legacy behind that PF did)
I know that's sacrilege but I honestly feel the Floyd that I love really began on Saucerful.

Because I think everything from Dark Side to The Wall deserves the hype.

I thinh that DSOTM is overrated, but it is such a great album. I think its overrated in the way that most tribute bands play mostly from it. There are too many other great albums to just focus on one.

The Wall.
Animals is my least favourite, but it's not very overrated. Well, among Floyd fans it is, but outside of that it's not as well known as The Wall.
