I'm not looking for an argumet here,i'm just wondering why some fans think this album is overrated.
azza200, by the way why do you think DSOTM is overrated?
Give me some reasons and i'll leave it at that.
Pink Floud can't help it if millions of people love this album.
They did what they know best and made an album which many bands would kill to have.

I think the album is GOOD, but I'm so sick of seeing it all over the place. I absolutely hate the commercialism of it, for my first point. It makes me want to puke.
Second I hate seeing it win EVERYTHING..maybe..just maybe, for once something else could win? ONOS. I don't even think it's that great lyrically, concept wise, guitar wise, drum wise, or vocal wise, in fact the only reason I'd give it a B would be for a select few songs..it's a good album..just not their best on any level..and the way it's idolised and everything makes me sick
It's just the way it's revered, and..i just don't think it's that good really. It's good, but not great

Dark Side of The Moon is a brilliant album, in my opinion. Funny, it seems like a band's most overrated album is always it's most popular :D I am pretty sick of Dark Side of the Moon T-shirts, though.
I voted for Piper, by the way. I really don't like that album very much.

That doesn't mean it's overrated. Saying PATGOD is overrated is like saying The Soft Machine or Captain Beefheart are overrated. Syd's just a little bit more well known then those chaps.

I think I would actually have to say Animals...I didn't realize it before I joined here, but I see a lot of people who says its their favorite. For me, its my third favorite, but I don't really like it a whole lot more than the ones I rank under it. it's still a very good album, but for some reason it just doesn't seem like a GREAT album to me. I guess since I like slower songs with a lot of keyboard and solos, like the songs on WYWH, and Sheep just doesn't quite do it for me. I'm sure many people will disagree, but oh well...

I said the Wall. It seems to be flawed musically, though definitely not for the concept, and i think the concept gets a little more credit than it deserves. it doesnt have enough musically stellar songs IMO, though it is a fantastic album nonetheless.
I think he re-gifted and then he de-gifted and now he's using an upstairs invite as a springboard to a Super Bowl sex romp!

It seems like everyone (at least on these forums) thinks Piper is a masterpiece. I might be getting the wrong impression :D
