I've learned a few songs by Pink Floyd on my guitar now. But if there's one song in which I can't seem to get, it's Dogs. I know the bloody chords in the song and I even know when to switch to the next chord and all that but I can't get the rhythm. Dave does some pretty heavy strumming and I can't seem to figure out the pattern exactly. I usually start out ok but it all goes to hell afterwards. Ah, well. To each his own.

Haha, nevermind that post. I tried playing Dogs again (the rhythm...I haven't put too much focus on the solos yet) and have the main strumming rhythm down. I watched the first half of the 'In The Flesh' dvd and closely observed the guy on guitar doing the strumming. Now I've got it. Now what's left are those bloody solos! But today I also did learn all the riffs in 'Money' and started playing 'Mother.' Money's a fun one to play. I decided to learn the bass riffs from this song after seeing Roger in the 'In The Flesh' dvd during the special feature 'gearing up.' He and his band were rehearsing and he was playing the riffs (as he does of course). I know he plays it on the record but it was more inspiring to see him play it in the flesh. Ah, yes. I swear, the day will never come when I get bored of playing the guitar. There's always more to learn...

it's a useful DVD to check for that sort a thing, In The Flesh. I guess you need a second harmony guitarist to get the Dog's solo effect (or an octave pedal?). Plus you have to lie back half asleep and chew gum as Doyle Bramhill II does ;)
dave Gilmour's DVD has an extra help you see how dave plays the solos.
