i've been playing guitar for about 7 or 8 years now, and all pink floyd songs i know i've either figured out myself or got tabs from the internet or learned from friends, but recently i picked up the Dark Side tab book...

and there are parts that just don't sound right. I've had problems with a couple tab books before so i'm wondering, have other people noticed errors in this tab book or is it just me?

i haven't noticed any problems with any solos, but some riffs just don't play right...i'd appreciate any input from anyone who's seen or has the tab book.

I noticed that too with a book I have. The notes in Echoes just don't sound right. I don't know the process of recording a guitar book, but the only thing I can think is that someone sounded it out wrong or Dave plays the notes a different way and they sound different to us.

Anyone have any input on this?

often u just gotta go with it - i'm not a tab book fan, but with them u have to rely more on the book than how the part actually sounds

i picked up a tab book and i believe i was working on astronomy domine!! GREAT SONG

i love the ruggedness and purity of it, and there where some notes there that i believe where out of key even, let alone FARRRR from the way it sounds, im talking about fingerpicking down on the 12 and 13's when i hear a steady chord progression im positive im not reading it wrong, i play in jazz band and am in choir so i can keep up with the beat, just sometimes it goes off on me.

also i have noticed that the books willsometimes just show you the chord, and you have to play strings individually or in a certain order or something, so keep that in mind and just go with it, it will come together eventualley

I very much doubt a professionally published tab would be so wrong. they are more or less right (and who cares about being perfect)
at least its not one of these tabs you get off the internet which contain about one line, no lyrics and have explanations like ,"er, just listen to how the record sounds and play along"

what song sounds wrong in echos? just curious because i have the book. if the entire song sounds a little off the recording was sped up or slowed down, which changes the pitch.
