In defense of fretshaggers or rather Steve Vai in particular:
Fretshaggers can do the "david gilmour" stuff of finding the perfect note.

For Example: Frank - Steve Vai which was song Steve vai wrote in memory of Frank Zappa his mentor. It's slower but oh so nice.

actually, i heard one song, with a sort of Indian vibe with a chick singing which was quite good, in a guilty pleasure way

YEaaah. It's the first one on his album "The ultra zone" forgot what it was called and too lazy to look it up. The indian girl was singing "Harihara" which is one of the hindu gods and also happens to be one of my friends (indian of course) name: Hariharan. His name mean having the qualities of Harihara. fun fun
