I never, ever liked the idea that the faster you play, the better guitarist you are. I think if you make good music with the guitar and innovate without resorting to wowing people with 40 notes every 10 seconds or whatever, you're a good guitarist. Hendrix made so many awful songs. "Manic Depression", what the hell was that. Now I'll sound like a hypocrite : I like Buckethead and Clapton, I'd say. Then there's Randy Rhoades. Les Claypool. :;):

shwat nice....they are a great band...if you like ne blue grass you should listen to yonder mountain string band...they do a few floyd covers that just sound awesome

after that, probably Mark Knopfler, Chet Atkins, David Gilmour, Wes Montgomery... I guess it all depends on what kind of mood I'm in... Couldn't really say that any one is better than the other - they're all so different in style, you just have to know what you're looking for at that particular moment!

i hate blues rock guitarists, like virtually everyone who has been chosen so far. Wes is a good choice, and so is Fripp, though... Belew's good, and ...Nile Rogers is THE man. get Fripp and Rogers together! (unless this has already happened)
