From a review of Live 8:
(I kept in the part about Floyd cuz it was cool)

It's hard to follow Robbie. Where do you go from there? There was a certain four piece that were at the top of their game for many, many years. Riotous, powerful and stunning performers. Many years later drummer Keith Moon is no more, as is John Entwistle. That leaves Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey. Townshend is 60 and Daltrey, well not far off. Tonight, 41 years after they were formed they stole the show. Age never entered into it. Townshend was still there doing his windmill guitar moves, Daltrey still with iron lungs and his trademark swinging of the microphone.

The Who have been in the public eye recently with their track 'Who are You?' and 'Won't Get fooled Again' being used on the US crime series CSI. Rumoured to have gone without a sound check, The Who sounded phenomenal, drummer Steve White, who has in the past played With Paul Weller, did not match Keith Moon - but who could? But the musicians backed Daltrey and Townshend as they showed just how good they really are. Daltrey didn't drop a note and Townshend played with the same gusto that made him so popular decades ago!

If that wasn't enough, as the darkness covered the Central London Park the strains of 'Breathe' echoed across distance. Images of pigs appeared on the screen and here started the highlight of the day's event. After 24 years, Pink Floyd was back together for this special performance as part of the 'Make Poverty History 'campaign. To see and hear the classic tracks was amazing if not surreal. Roger Waters was clearly emotional, dedicating 'Wish You Were here' to their old friend and former band member Syd Barrett. The playing was superb - as if they had never been away. The acoustic guitars at the beginning of 'Wish you were here' were haunting. Dave Gilmour was in fine form. And he even smiled!

'Comfortably Numb' was such a memorable moment - Pink Floyd standing there on stage playing some of the greatest tracks in popular music. I wonder if the Scissor Sisters hung around to meet and listen to the band and to hear how it should really be done?

Goddammit, why isn't roger reading our posts? I don't think he has any ideea what fans think about the band, how far out it is. I think he would get right back into music if he read our posts on these forums.

BTW, does anyone have any ideea if roger knows how to use a forum? :D

If anything this forum is much easier to use than many chat rooms in some respects.
