Here's an article i found on guitarsite.com called "How to Gilmour-ize your strat." Gives clues on how to set up your guitar like he does:

Will you be able to take your guitar over to Santa Cruz, wowser? Or maybe buy a great Californian made guitar while you're there?

Should invest in top quality hard case if your Strat is going to be bumped about at airports. Could get a nice amp over there I'm sure. Bringing it back at the end of the year might be an interesting challenge. Didn't you want to get yourself a quality acoustic sometime?

How come the topics in this category post from oldest the newest by default but the rest of the categories post the newest ones on top and the oldest ones last?

Yeah, travelling overseas with a musical instrument can be a hassle. Luckily I had a hard wooden case for my trombone when I toured in Europe. I had to wrap luggage straps around it though to keep it securely closed in case the latches popped open (good thing I did too because they DID pop open even with a lock!). I also had to pack the inside of the case & trombone itself tightly with towels to prevent movement and therefore damage. Might want to adapt a similar technique for your guitar, wowser. You might have to put it in another case (like a chest) if the guitar case itself isn't durable enough.

He could easily sell it before returning to England if it is too difficult or expensive to ship overseas.

A top quality hard guitar case should be sufficient. Putting it inside a "chest" is over the top. Maybe a couple of luggage straps around the case would be a good idea but so long as the latches and the lock are in fine working order they'll be no problem.

Hadn't noticed what you said about the oldest/newest order, Jintzey. Talk to PFOnline.

I'm telling you, don't rely on the case's latches. Mine popped right open and they were even locked and the case wasn't all that bad either. Use luggage straps just in case. If you're lucky, nothing will happen. But on the offchance something does, you'll be glad you took the extra precaution. A chest of course is going to the extreme but you could put other stuff in there also to decrease overall luggage if you're going to use something that bulky anyway.

I just noticed the topic ordering problem in one other category too. Not sure if it is a forum wide issue or just with me. Maybe I can easily fix it in my personal settings.
